Introduction
This article will explain my concept report for my prototype logos and show a mood board to help explain how I created my logo and will go into detail of how I had chosen my logo and why I had chosen it.
High Concept
My big idea for the newly created logo would be to fully create the logo and possible involved the letters N.W with the logo from Wales to mean Northwest Wales as the college is merging 3 college together to create a big organisation in north Wales. Other prototypes could include a book or a graduate hat with many other ideal suitable college or educational ideas.
Premise and story synopsis
My goal is to create the prototypes for the logo and then fully develop the logo after judgements of the prototypes created for testing purposes. This will help give me a better idea of what is an acceptable design and an idea of how the logo is progressing. With the logo chosen I have decided to improve the logo to make it look more professional and attractive to the audience of which I would be selling to them and achieving a profit as well as the company receiving better reputation.
Unique selling points
My unique selling point will be to make the logo viewable and better for black and white printings as they are where the printing will mostly be seen as a sign of the college but it will not be too appealing to prevent distraction for those who are viewing the website or important work. I will make my logos completely different to the previous logo to give more variety. Doing this allows the logo to be simple and say what it needs to say to show a sign of brand to the college however I would not believe it is suitable for larger buildings on the sign as it is not very big enough to be a proper banner and sightable for the logo on a large statue of some sort however with its simplicity it would work very well on documents or presentations with ease. With the final logo it will also be simple as complex logos may look unappealing when showing to business people and students.
Logo features
The logo will include graphics and a picture to help the logo be seen as text only logo is not very appealing to merge multiple colleges together. The features on the college logo may include items that are related to the college or to learning so that t will appeal to any generation.The final logo will have more detail but without ignoring the low polygons and simplicity of the logo.
Genre of logo
The genre will be aimed for education purposes as it is being created for a college meaning that the viewer must be able to understand that it is based in education however notice that it is shown as an educational logo. The genre will not needed to be aimed at a specific viewer however if any it will be more aimed at the mature student or older audience than the younger viewers.
Target platform
This will be designed for a pc and will be designed within the photo shop as with all the other prototypes created. It will also be used for printing off papers possibly in black and white and in colour in order to be effective without needing colour. It must also be able to provide the college with a good logo that does not require too much memory for the web page in order to prevent lag and long loading times. Doing this with the final logo would mean multiple file types such as TIF, JPEG and bitmap images.
Target Customer
It will be aimed for all audiences as it does not want to be too specific to a certain age and not let those at an older or younger age feel unwelcomed into the college. The major target audience is to those who want to improve their learning.
Competitive analysis
Since there isn’t a specific target audience I will be aiming the target audience to the people who are seeking education so it will be generated to provide an educational environment rather than an age target. Doing this allows the greatest amount of students and allow more employees who wish to train them.
Financial analysis
The budget is unknown however the time scale is 4 weeks including meetings and discussions to discuss how the logo will work and possibly how much it will cost to create it. If I were to be hiring a games designer it would cost 14000-22000 for a yearly games designer at the beginning of the career however I only need him until January the 9th which is 3 months and 13 days away so I will use calculations to find out the price it would cost to hire them. 14000to22000/365= £38.35to £60.27 a day which I would need for 4+31+ 30+ 31+ 9= 105 days which means the total cost if I hired a graphics designer would be £38.35*105= 4026.75 to £60.27*105=£6328.35. This means that it would cost for hiring a graphics designer a rough estimate of £4026 to £6328 for the job to be complete. However that is if the games designer is being paid every day from the beginning where as if the job is only a week then the job is worth around £268.45 to £421.89 for the whole weeks job.
Team
I would need a team in order to find out the information for the logo to find the initial findings before I create the logo. My team consisted of Cai Morgan, David Royles, Jordan Hart-Bryan, Nathaniel Mark, Peter Jones, Glen Peirce, Ryan Jones, Nick Agar and Paul Sergeant and myself
Proof of concept
Multiple prototypes for the logo possible in order to give a better image and choices for the client. To make sure that the logo is not copyrighted or copyrighted with the names they will be asked permission from the college before the creation of the fully developed and prototypes.

In the end I am pleased with the design of the logo however it is not showing some of the logos designs withinn them due to the lack of space or sight if it were shown on the logo. It has met my target group audience of students and buisiness people who would like to invest into the college as the college is subjected to entrepreneurs and many buisinesses wanting to support students in order to achieve employers from students which have finished their courses within the college.
I was able to reach my deadlines and complete the work within the time limit I was given and reach with a low budget for the logo to be created with a simple and effective look for a buisiness look.
